Tina O. Miller

With over thirty years’ experience as a trial lawyer representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil and criminal cases in federal and state courts across the country, Tina O. Miller brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice as a mediator, special master and arbitrator. Having trained as a mediator at the prestigious Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, Ms. Miller has mediated a wide variety of state and federal cases involving employment discrimination, contract disputes, the Fair Labor Standards Act, civil rights claims, the False Claims Act, torts, and copyright infringement. She also served as a mediator for the federal government where she helped resolve employee/employer disputes for federal agencies.

Ms. Miller has been appointed as a Special Master for discovery and e-discovery matters in numerous complex cases in federal court, including in cases involving contract disputes, civil RICO and trademark, as well as a multi-district patent litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania involving 25 transferred cases.

Ms. Miller’s trial and litigation experience includes a wide variety of criminal and civil cases. She has tried cases in state and federal court, as well as arbitration forums, involving contract disputes, tortious interference, public corruption, fraud, civil rights, arson, arms trafficking, carjacking, narcotics trafficking and sex offenses. In the fall of 2007, she was sole counsel for the government in a federal death penalty trial involving a murder-for-hire scheme. She is a former Deputy United States Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division at the United States Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh where she led the investigation and prosecution of numerous high-profile cases, served as a crisis coordinator, and supervised over seventy employees in three offices.

Following her graduation from Duquesne Law School in 1993, Ms. Miller began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose on both the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Court of Common Pleas of Westmoreland County. She received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh.
